京都大学はフィールドワーク研究を１つの大きな特色としています。この国際シンポジウムでは、フィールドワークを通じた研究と教員に関する京都大学の最近の取り組みが、発表され、情報交流がなされました。
京都大学の関係する部局、すなわち野生動物研究センター、霊長類研究所、生存圏研究所、フィールド科学教育研究センター、アジア・アフリカ地域研究研究科などが参加しました。
京都大学がフィールドワークということを基盤に、いかに凄い研究や教育を展開しているかが良くわかる、大変興味深いシンポジウムでした。
フィールド科学教育研究センターでは、下記のセッションを石原正恵先生が中心になって企画しました。
